MuniStrategies was born out of the vision of two native Mississippians who have first hand experience with the near absence of organized risk capital in the state of Mississippi.

Now more than ever, Mississippi needs to utilize state and federal tax advantaged financing strategies such as Historic Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits and federal loan guarantees. These programs have the capacity to address decades of community underinvestment and urban decay in low income communities. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Gulf Opportunity Zone (GoZone) incentives make investing in the state even more attractive.
